Can I Receive Incontinence Products Through Idaho Medicaid? Idaho Medicaid covers the cost of incontinence products/supplies. Eligible members can get products delivered at little to no cost like:
- Adult Diapers,
- Bladder Control Pads, And
- Adult Pull-On Underwear.
- Be over the age of 65 years
- Have a disability diagnosis under the Social Security Act or be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Live in Idaho
- Meet certain income and resource guidelines
- Additional supplies may be prior authorized if the request includes medical justification of why the maximum limit will not meet the participant’s needs.
- Any combination of disposable diapers, liners, or pull-ups is limited to 240 units per rolling month.
- Documentation must be kept on file with a statement of necessity from the ordering physician or non-physician practitioner that the participant meets the requirements for coverage.
- Idaho Medicaid will only reimburse for pull-ups if the participant can perform toileting activities on their own sometimes and when briefs would prevent independence and cause a risk to the participant.
- Incontinence supplies, including diapers, liners, pull-ups, and underpads, are covered for participants who have a medical need for the items based on their diagnosis.
- Pull-ups are not covered for the convenience of the caregiver
- The medical justification must include a medical condition that includes bowel or bladder control loss.
- These items are not covered for participants under four years of age or in long-term care (e.g., intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities and nursing facilities) settings.
- Toilet training plans are encouraged for participants transitioning out of diapers and briefs.
- Underpads are limited to 150 units per rolling month.
