Virginia currently provides incontinence products for children and adults as one of the medically necessary items under its Medicaid coverage.

Adult Medicaid recipients may qualify to receive a combination of the following:

  • Adult Briefs (Adult Diapers).
  • Adult Protective Underwear (Pull-Ons).
  • Bladder Control Pads.
  • Booster Pads.
  • Disposable Underpads (Chux).
  • Gloves.

To be approved for incontinence supplies under Virginia Medicaid, you or your loved one must have the following items:

  • Must be enrolled in a Virginia Medicaid plan.
  • Must have a qualifying medical need, such as autism, diabetes, Parkinson’s Disease, Down syndrome, etc.
  • The estimated amount of supplies needed per day (i.e., two adult briefs, one disposable underpad, etc.).
  • The medical reason for needing supplies.
